Annual Grange horse pull Thursday
The annual Little Muskingum Grange horse pull will be held Thursday at the Bill and Twila Bowersock farm on Washington County Road 9. The pony pull will begin at 9 a.m. followed by the horse pull. There will be chicken noodles, sandwiches, homemade pies and other food. There will also be a country store. Admission is $3 per person or free for children 12 and younger.

Meeting on Spring Hills development
The Village of Beverly Council and Board of Public Affairs will have a combined special meeting at 6:30 p.m. today to discuss the Spring Hills development. Committee meetings for July will be held at 7 p.m. today. The regular council meeting will be at 7 p.m. July 10. The Board of Public Affairs meeting will be at 5 p.m. July 17. All meetings will be at the village office, 919 Mitchell Ave.
Mexican dinner at VFW Post 5108
VFW 5108, 319 Pike St., Marietta will hold a Mexican dinner from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Food options include taco salads, loaded nachos and nachos with cheese. Meals are individually priced.

No Rumpke waste
Rumpke waste removal and recycling will not take place on Thursday. Customers with collection on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will not be affected by the holiday. Thursday's collection will move to Friday and Friday's collection will move to Saturday.
Butler Street closed for water tap work
Butler Street will be closed to traffic beginning at 8 a.m. today and continuing into Wednesday to allow the installation of two new water taps for Marietta College. No water outages are expected.

Financial statements for career center
The Washington County Career Center recently completed its fiscal year ending June 30. The unaudited (cash basis) financial statements are available for public inspection between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the treasurer's office.
