The Zonta Club of Marietta awarded two scholarships of $500 each to Jessie Bauman of Cutler and Tanessa Pugh of Reno. The scholarships are awarded to nontraditional women who need financial assistance while attending Washington State Community College.
Jessie Bauman is enrolled as a first year student in the Medical Laboratory Technology program. She hopes to receive a bachelor's degree after completing her associate degree and gaining on the job experience. She will use her scholarship for the 2013 summer session.
Tanessa Pugh is in the Physical Therapy Assistant program. She enjoys helping others and volunteering at Restore Marietta. She will use her scholarship for the 2013 fall semester.
The Zonta Club of Marietta is pleased to make these awards to improve the lives of these women. Zonta is an international service organization for executives in business and the professions who have united to give service at both the local and international levels. The goal of Zonta is to improve the legal, political, social, economic and professional status of women around the world.
