Helen M. Dennis, 89, of Marietta, passed away Saturday (July 13, 2013) at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Helen was born Thursday, March 6, 1924, in Lower Salem, Ohio, to the late James F. and Ada Smith Parks. She graduated from Salem-Liberty High School in 1942, where she was a cheerleader and a member of the band. She worked as an office secretary for B.F. Goodrich for 33 years. Helen was a member of the 6th & Washington Streets Church of Christ.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen Johnson of Marietta; granddaughters, Debbie Buchman (Richard) of Marietta and Beverly McFadden (Randy Dailey) of Waterford; five great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude Turner of Canton and Mary Lou Fruia of Marietta; and a brother, James R. Parks of Columbus.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Earl H. Dennis (April 5, 2005).
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday (July 17, 2013) at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., with Roger Rush officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
