Kyle Daniel Bankes, Sgt. US Marine Corps, 22, of Beverly, Ohio, died Saturday, July 13, 2013 in Zanesville as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born Sept. 18, 1990 in Zanesville, Ohio, son of Bruce Bankes and Maureen Foley Welch.
He graduated from Fort Frye High School in 2009. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps on July 12, 2013 after four years of service. He was a Christian by faith.
He is survived by his mother, Maureen Welch and husband Blaine of Beverly; his father, Bruce Bankes and friend Kathy North of Waterford; one brother, Raymond Bankes, U.S. Marines, and wife Arianne and their daughter, Aunaleigh of San Diego, Cal.; two sisters, Jenna Bankes of Marietta and Angie Hindy and husband Joel of Marietta; two step sisters, Michelle Garrett and husband Ryan of Cambridge and Kayla Welch of Beverly; one step brother, Brent Welch of Beverly; grandmothers, Maxine Bankes of Malta and Margarett Foley of South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Raymond Bankes and Robert Foley.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Fifth Street Church of Christ in Beverly with Evang. Jeff Shaner officiating. Burial will be in Beverly Cemetery with military services at the grave. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly.
