Janice Anne Burkhart, 83, of Marietta passed away Friday (July 26, 2013) at the Harmar Place.
She was born on Sunday, Feb. 9, 1930, in Marietta, to the late Clyde Paul Bertram and Gertrude Willa (Miller) Bertram.
Janice graduated from Marietta High School in 1948. She was a graduate of the Ohio School of Banking and retired in 1995 from the First Bank of Ohio after 30 years of service where she was the secretary-cashier.
Janice enjoyed reading, walking, bowling, gardening, games, fashion, music and the Cincinnati Reds.
Janice married Roy J. Burkhart on Oct. 14, 1950, in the Saint Mary's Rectory. They were married 62 years.
Roy survives with one son and three daughters. Debbie (John) Roberts of Westerville, Ohio, Linda Burkhart of Grove City, Ohio, Tim Burkhart of Dublin, Ohio and Pamela of Marietta.
Janice is also survived by four grandsons, Sean Roberts of Durango, Colo., Ryan Roberts of Clintonville, Ohio, Kyle Burkhart of Dublin, Ohio, and Kory Burkhart of Dallas, Texas.
Janice has one brother, Jim (Alice) Bertram of Marietta; one sister, Dorothea (Dave) Drennen of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; and four nephews and two nieces.
Janice was entombed at East Lawn Hope Mausoleum, Marietta, after a private family service on Saturday (July 27, 2013).
