John Calvin "Cal" Latstetter, 88, of Marietta, passed away Sunday (Sept. 8, 2013).
He was born in Jackson County, W.Va., the son of the late John Augustus and Hazel L. Curry Latstetter.
He had retired form the Parkersburg Lumber Company, where he was the manager and served as vice president.
He enjoyed going to gun shows and woodworking. He was an avid hunter and was a member of the National Rifle Association and The National Turkey Federation.
He is survived by his children, Mike Latstetter and wife, Debbie, of Williamstown, Dan Latstetter and wife, Leanda, of Marietta., Kathy Whitlatch and husband, Dave, of Williamstown and Karen Hall and husband, Alan, of Williamstown; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Lipps of Vienna and Betty Summers of Dayton, Ohio; a very special friend, Geraldine Young of Ravenswood, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Lorene Lynch Latstetter; three brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with the Rev. Norman Butler officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
