Hazel Louise Lane Garrett, 88, of Marietta, passed away Sunday (Sept. 22, 2013) at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born Friday, March 20, 1925, in Marietta, to the late John and Martha Dalrymple Cooper. Hazel loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, gardening and working with her late husband Eugene at Lane's Farm Market. Hazel was an active member of Bethel Lighthouse Church and the Ladies Aide Society.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Sandra), Ted (Najet), Neil, Bruce, Brent and Melissa Lane; grandchildren, Chad (Jeanie), Brad (Sherri), Dr. Mark (Tia), Dr. Jason, Jill and Nate (Jess) Lane, as well as Carla (Tim) White; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Nycol, Katlyn, Hunter and Ethan Lane and Brock and Blake White; siblings, Mildred Dawson, Virginia and Freida Huck.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Lane (6/12/1984); and second husband Robert Garrett (2/9/2013); grandchildren, Marie and Derek Lane; siblings, Pearle, Leonard, Roy, Wilbert, Alberta and Florence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday (Sept. 27, 2013) at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., with Kevin Gutberlet officiating. Burial will follow in Tunnel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
