BEVERLY - The Fort Frye Cadets are halfway through a very important stretch in their Pioneer Valley Conference schedule.
So far so good for the Sam Skinner led Lady Cadets as they followed last week's win over Shenandoah with a 3-0 victory Tuesday night over the River Lady Pilots at Fort Frye High School.
Fort Frye swept the Pilots by scores of 25-20, 25-17, and 25-23 on its brand new gym floor.

"It's always nice to get a win," said second-year head head coach Skinner. "I didn't think we played up to our potential tonight, but we were good enough to squeak by."
After the Cadets claimed game No. 1, the Pilots jumped out to a 10-9 lead in the second game before the Fort scored nine of the next 10 points to pull out to an 18-11 lead.
"We work on rally points every single day in practice," said Skinner of the run that included seven straight points by the red, white and blue. "Its just a testament of things we go over in practice coming through for us in the game."

The Lady Pilots jumped out to the early lead in the final game and led most of the way before the Cadets pulled even at 16-16.
River pulled right back in front as they used a 7-4 run to take a 23-20 lead.
The Lady Cadets had one more rally in them however as they capped a 5-0 game ending and match clinching run on back-to-back aces by Bailey Thieman for their sixth conference victory in seven tries.
Alli Hesson paced the Lady Cadets with 20 assists and nine points to go along with a dig and four aces.
Megan Hesson finished the game with solid numbers of her own as she contributed 10 kills, a dig, 12 points and a team high seven aces in the game.
"She (Megan Hesson) is a very powerful server for us," said Skinner. "She did a good job for us tonight."
Also having strong games for the Cadets were Thieman with four kills, two digs, 3 aces, and 13 points as well as Alyssa Skinner (12 assists, 2 digs, 1 ace and seven points) and Megan Pennock (8 kills and two digs.).
"Megan (Pennock) came up with some big kills for us tonight and Alyssa (Skinner) did a great job of setting and getting some points as well." said Skinner.
The stretch of contests against PVC rivals continues the next two nights for the Lady Cadets as they host Monroe Central tonight before traveling to Caldwell on Thursday evening.
"We tried a couple of different things tonight and I thought River played good," said Skinner. "I think we need to work on some things so hopefully we get better before tournament time."
The win improved the Cadets season mark to a very respectable 10-3, while the Lady Pilots slipped to 7-6 with the defeat.
