The first Marietta Shrine Club Community Day will be held Saturday at the Marietta Shrine Club. The main events will be viewing college football, a car show and a poker run.
Football on TV
College football will be free of charge and on the big screen at the Marietta Shrine Club beginning at noon with West Virginia vs. Oklahoma. Next at 3:30 p.m. will be Oklahoma vs. Notre Dame, and the last game at 8 p.m. will be Ohio State vs. Wisconsin. Food and legal beverages will be available inside the building from 11 a.m. to midnight.
Also the Rollin Oldies Car Club will sponsor a car show at the club from noon to 4 p.m. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with a registration fee of $10 per entry. The first 50 vehicles will receive a dash plaque and T-shirts. The next 50 will receive a dash plaque. This event is free and open to the public. There will be games for children of all ages.
Beginning at The Beachcomber in Williamstown will be a poker run that can include motorcycles, jeeps, muscle cars and classic vehicles. First vehicle will be out at 10 a.m. and the last vehicle will leave at noon. Stops include Edgewater (outside Marietta), Valley Inn (Beverly), Ashton Bar (Caldwell), Wrangler (Whipple), and the run ends at the Marietta Shrine Club. Registration is $10 per vehicle and T-shirts will be available for $15.
