Roger and Betsy Hune Kalter, who bicycled around the world for five years, five months, and five days, are exhibiting 150 items acquired from 20 countries during their tour. Entitled "World Tour: Bamboo to Gold," the display includes an Egyptian tapestry, a Burmese umbrella, and many handmade crafts and photographs.

It is expected that 21 bands from the region will participate in Band-O-Rama next weekend. The Second Marine Air Wing Band will present a concert at the court house before leading the street parade, set to begin at 3 p.m. Trophies to be awarded for marching and field maneuvers are on display in the window of Peoples Bank.

Tom Lacey, a one-armed tramp who escaped from the stone pile at the city jail, was rounded up by police again when he was found begging. He was given the choice of leaving Marietta in 20 minutes, or being locked in a cell for 30 days on a bread and water diet. Lacey agreed to move on.
