Maxine Bright, 96, of Elyria, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, (Oct. 2, 2013) in Wesleyan Village in Elyria. She was born on Oct. 14, 1916, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late John and Wilmetta (Notestone) McGee. She was a member of Maple Street United Methodist Church.
Maxine is survived by her three sons: Jon (Nancy) Bright of Canton, Ronald (Janice) Bright of Ft. Collins, Colo. and Neil (Patricia) Bright of Oberlin; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, F. Rober Bright in 2000; brothers, Wayne, Paul, Ross, Robert, Dennis and Dwight McGee; and sisters, Ruth McGee, Beatrice Jourdan, Florence Strawn and Alice McGee.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 11:30 a.m. in the Maple Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Beth McKee officiating. A private family burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family is being served by the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home, Lancaster.
