Sandra R. Wilson, 73, of Marietta, died on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at the Arbors at Marietta. She was born on Friday, Oct. 11, 1940, in Marietta to the late Harold and Esther (Halladay) Schramm.
After Sandra graduated from Marietta High School in 1958, she obtained 3 master's degrees from various universities. She retired from the Marietta School District after teaching French and English for 30 years. She was a member of the P.E.O., Shawl Ministries and Herb Guild Society. Sandra was also a Master Gardener, a Hospice volunteer, an English tutor at Washington State Community College and was involved in the Evergreen Arts and Humanities Series Committee and the past Indian Summer Festival. Sandra was also the former proprietor of the Old Milkhouse Herbal Greenhouse.
Sandra is survived by two sisters, Anna-Lee Wilson of Conn., Kathy Disbrow (Dan) of N.Y.; one brother, Rick Schramm (Theresa) of Marietta; one step brother, Ronnie Seevers of Marietta; five nieces, Sarah Kern (Nathan) and Sally Wagner (Drew), both on Marietta, Maxine Seamen (Dave), Jamie Eaves (Jim) and Jennifer Zeigler all of N.Y.; one nephew, Wesley Schramm (Kim) of Marietta and 15 grand nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013 at the Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike Street, Marietta, 45750 with Richard Saltzwedel officiating. Friends may call from noon until the time of service.
