William M. ‘Bill’ Schafer

William M. "Bill" Schafer, 83, passed away suddenly on Oct. 21, 2013. He was a former resident of Harriettsville, Ohio. Mr. Schafer recently moved to Olive Branch, Miss. from Tucson, Ariz. where he and his wife, Blanche, lived for 36 years. Bill was born May 31, 1930.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James S. and Ollie L. (Doan) Schafer; two sisters, Betty Smith and Faye Forshey. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Blanche; and a son, Harry James Schafer (Diane); three grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hazel Smithberger (Edgar) of Lower Salem, Ohio.

He worked at Airolite Company in Marietta, then in 1977 he transferred to Tucson to work at the Louv-aire plant where he became the plant manager and retired in 1992. Bill and Blanche enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling and returning to Ohio to visit family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Lower Salem at a later date.
