John M. Boley Sr., 89, of Caldwell, Ohio passed away Thursday, (Oct. 31, 2013) at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born Thursday, Sept. 11, 1924, in Fayette County, W.Va., to the late Rufus M. and Lottie Mae Crookshank Boley.
John served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII and worked for Patten Manufacturing before retiring from various trucking companies as a truck driver. He attended church services at Summit Acres.
John is survived by his daughter, "Lanie" Burkhart (Donald) of Bremen, Ohio; sons, John M. Boley Jr. (Vicky) of Whipple, Ohio, Dwight "Butch" Boley of Canton, Ohio and Mike Boley (Tammy) of Texas; grandchildren, Matthew Boley (Jess), Brandon Boley (Brandi), Ryan Boley (Jenna), Angie Alley, Karie Allen (Richard), Beau Burkhart (Jennifer), Katie Berk (Joe), Rachel Senter (Mike), Natalie Angelo (Tim), Josh, Austin, and Jacob Boley; great-grandchildren, Makayla Hinkle, Connor Boley, Juilanna Angelo, Rylee Alley, Kallie, Zane and Keegan Boley, Riley and Remington Weckbacher, Mitchell Berk and Branson Boley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Thrasher Boley on March 4, 2009, and twin infants, sons, Arthur J. Boley and William Lloyd Boley.
Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta. Burial to follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.hadleyfh.com.
