Corrine E. Binegar Mendenhall

Corrine E. Binegar Mendenhall went to be with her Lord at 9 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 5, 2013) at her residence in Marietta after a short illness, with her family by her side.

She was born Dec. 30, 1930, in Dart, a daughter of Elmer and Margie Lane Binegar. Corrine was a stay-at-home mother and then lately she had been employed by Collin Anderson Center in St. Marys, W.Va., for 12 years before she retired. She enjoyed doing her puzzle books, watching the Tennessee Lady Vols basketball, horses, bowling and spending time with friends and family. She was a member of Bear Run and Pine Ridge United Methodist Church.

On Oct. 16, 1948, she married James R. Mendenhall, who preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 2009.

She is survived by four daughters, Janet Mendenhall (partner Stacie Boron) of Marietta, Joyce (Larry) Lent of Concord, N.C., Bonna (Thomas) Lamp of Rinard Mills, Monna (Cam) West of New Matamoras; seven grandchildren, Joseph (Lori) Lamp of Lowell, Lori (Trent) Smith of Brownsville, Stacey (Aaron) Courtney of Beverly, Cory and Samuel Lent of Concord, N.C., Cam (Shannon) West of Newport, Carrie (Dustin) Nippert of Powhatten; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Danielle Lamp, Katelyn and Dakota Smith, Blake and Cassidy Courtney, Briar and Maddox West, Caden and Aubrey Nippert. Also surviving are two sisters, Juanita (Wilbur) Nesbitt of Canton, OraJean (Larry) Tilton of Lowell; two brothers, Dale (Betty) Binegar of Ocala, Fla., Richard (Barbra) Binegar of Marietta; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Delbert, Donald, James, and David Binegar.

The family would like to thank Hospice for all of the special care they gave Corrine.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 9) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Thibault officiating. Family will greet friends from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday. Burial will be in Newport Cemetery.
