June Parker of Marietta recently received a phone call from country singer Hank Williams, Jr. Parker had been trying to contact Williams to tell him about her friends' pet turkey that was a big fan of his music. The turkey would run toward the radio whenever Williams' music was on.

The Beverly Dispatch, Washington County's only weekly newspaper, has been sold by Frank C. Holdren to Fred Powell of Caldwell. Holdren had been associated with the paper since 1920, when he began a partnership with the late Fred Price.

J. Wittlig & Sons announces that the correct time to the second is now received daily from Washington. All who wish to hear this wonderful wireless are invited to call at the store at 10:55 a.m. when the time is flashed out.
