Charles T. "Tom" Bryan, 66, of Marietta died Tuesday (Nov. 5, 2013) at his residence from lung cancer. He was born Oct. 11, 1947 in Parkersburg, a son of the late Charles Edwin and Beatrice Lawrence Bryan.
Tom retired from Eramet as an electrician, was a 1966 graduate of Parkersburg High School and attended Vienna Baptist Church. Earlier in life he trained and hunted with bird dogs and also enjoyed woodworking, skeet and trap shooting, golf, reading his Bible and studying genealogy.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Bryan; children, Thomas M. Bryan, Charles W. (Donna) Bryan, Tina Kunsman all of Parkersburg; step-children Debbie (Bob) Peters of Washington, Kathy Null of Davisville, Jill Parsons of Vienna, Andy Parsons of Charlotte, N.C.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters, Charlotte (Bill) Speece of Parkersburg, Colleen Taitt of Parkersburg, Christine (Danny) Siders of Lexington, Ky.; one brother, Doug (Barb) Bryan of Proctorville, Ohio; half-brother, Scott Bryan of Maryland; half-sister Mariana Ryan of Columbus; step-mother, Jo Ann Bryan; and his faithful companion "Cookie."
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Simmons.
Services will be Friday 1 p.m. at Vienna Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and Friday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.
