Margaret Poulson

Margaret Webber Poulson, 87 of Athens, died Saturday morning (Nov. 9, 2013) at Grant Medical Center, Columbus. She was born July 3, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Harry and Ida Boyd Webber.

For most of her life she was a full time homemaker. She was an active member of North Broadway Methodist Church, Columbus, and later a member of First United Methodist Church, Athens. She graduated from West High School, Columbus, class of 1944. She and her husband Dwight maintained friendships with West High Alumni and faithfully attended class reunions. Mrs. Poulson was a volunteer in many organizations, including the American Cancer Society. Margaret was a founding member of the Athens Alamanders Square Dance Club. She and her husband enjoyed traveling during their retirement years. Margaret was known for her letter writing, which helped her maintain lifelong friendships and family connections.

Margaret is survived by a daughter, Carol (Barney) Grueser of Athens; three sons, Ted (Jane Haley) Poulson of Columbus, Mark (Nita) Poulson of Columbus and Jon (Holly) Poulson of Marietta; eight grandchildren, Taylor Grueser, Leslie (Adam) Terrell, Andrew, deceased, (Gretchen) Poulson, Reed (Abby) Poulson, Alison (Cory) Welch, Robert Dessent, Rebecca, Tess Poulson; and six great-grandchildren, Addison, Avery and Alaina Terrell, Robert Grimes, Ryan and Jake Poulson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dwight L. Poulson in 2006; three brothers, Derwin, Earl (Betty) and Robert (Pat) Webber.

Friends may call Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service, which will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with the Rev. Wendy Lybarger officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Cemetery, 14220 Era Road, Mt. Sterling, Ohio at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Central Ohio, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
