A northern Ohio woman pleaded guilty Tuesday in Washington County Common Pleas Court to stealing from a Dunham Township man with whom she was residing in August 2012.
Among other things, Terra Hooper, 33, of 7703 Ivandale Road, Parma, admitted to stealing checks from the residence.
At least one check was forged and later cashed in Parkersburg, said Washington County Assistant Prosecutor Kevin Rings.

Terra Hooper, left, sits quietly during her Tuesday change of plea hearing in Washington County Common Pleas Court.
"There were also a number of items taken, including a firearm. I don't believe a lot of those items have been returned to the victim," he said.
Hooper quietly agreed that Rings' account of the facts were correct and pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree felony count of grand theft. The count was in relation to the theft of the check, said Rings.
In exchange for her guilty plea, two third-degree felony charges arising from the same incident were dismissed, said Washington County Common Pleas Court Judge Randall Burnworth.
Hooper had initially been indicted in June on a third-degree felony count of grand theft, a fourth-degree felony count of grand theft and a third-degree felony count of tampering with evidence.
The tampering with evidence charge resulted from Hooper and co-defendant Arthur A. Thornton, of Parkersburg, trying to make the burglary of the home look like an outside job.
"They made it look like a forced break-in," said Rings.
The dropped theft charge was in relation to the items stolen in addition to the check, he said.
Hooper is scheduled to be sentenced at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 10 on the charge, which carries a maximum penalty of 18 months in prison.
Thornton is being held in the Washington County Jail and is awaiting trial on the same three charges-a third-degree felony count of grand theft, a fourth-degree felony count of grand theft and a third-degree felony count of tampering with evidence.
If found guilty of all three, the maximum available penalty is seven and a half years in prison.
