Dale Eugene "Andy" Anderson, went to be with his Savior on Saturday (Nov. 30, 2013). Born July 12, 1928, in Fleming, Ohio, the son of the late Carl C. and Mildred V. (Basim) Anderson, he was a graduate of Marietta High School.
Andy served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Toledo and the USS Springfield. Upon returning from the war, he married his high school sweetheart, Edna Hollister (1948). He earned his BFA from Marietta College (1952) and his masters in counseling from The Ohio State University. He was an insurance agent in Marietta from 1952 to 1959. In 1959, the family moved to Central Ohio. Andy retired from Licking Heights High School in 1990 after 31 years as a teacher, coach and guidance counselor. He was a member of Jersey Baptist Church; the American Legion; Washington County Genealogical Society; Washington County Historical Society; and the Marietta College Alumni Association.
He is survived by his wife Edna; three children, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Miller.
