Daniel Keith Blake, 59, of Marietta, formerly of Duncan Falls, passed away Tuesday (Dec. 10, 2013) at his home.
He was born Sept. 8, 1954, in Zanesville, to Herbert and Barbara (Gainer) Blake. Daniel was a graduate of Philo High School and had earned an associate degree from Washington State Community College, where he went on to become an auto diesel instructor. He was a member of the Marietta First Church of the Nazarene, and was also involved with the Upward Basketball program.
Daniel was married to Rhonda Ratliff who survives with his stepson, David DeBord of Cleveland, and stepdaughter, Sheri Adkins (Terry) of Parkersburg, and grandchildren Riley, Logan, Noah and Sophie. Also surviving are brothers, Steven Blake (Becky) of Duncan Falls, Alan Blake (Melody) of Pataskala, Ohio and Robert Blake (Diane) of Duncan Falls; a sister, Mary Jones (Jeffery) of Hopewell, Ohio; and several loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Adkins.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday (Dec. 13) at the Marietta First Church of the Nazarene with Terry Schmelzenbach officiating. Burial will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon at Duncan Falls Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the Marietta First Church of Nazarene on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
