The little post office in Jerusalem, Monroe County, does booming business this time of year. Postmaster David Harrison and clerk Ruth Ann Lucas deal with as many as 3,500 Christmas cards per day brought in from all over the country for the hand cancellation stamp of "Jerusalem."

Walt Disney's newest film, The Sword in the Stone, will open at the Colony Theatre on Christmas Day. The Putnam will bring back Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, starring Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas.
100 years ago
The M. C. & C. railroad ran a shoppers' special of five coaches into Marietta, and the business district was thronged with shoppers all day. Restaurants were unable to seat all the hungry visitors, and it was not unusual to see people eating sandwiches and drinking hot coffee on the streets.
