Mark W. Daniels, 91, of 40763 State Route 145, Lower Salem, Ohio passed away Thursday (Jan. 2, 2014) at the Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta.
He was born near Stafford, Ohio on March 24, 1922, a son of the late sorghum maker Landseer Daniels and Lulu Marie Thompson Daniels.
Mark was a retired construction worker for the Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation, Youngstown, Ohio and a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was also a member of the Lower Paw Paw Church of Christ, Lower Salem, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mabel Virginia Daniels who died on Dec. 3, 1991; a step-mother, Margaret J. Daniels; one son, William E. Daniels; one sister, Myrle E. Lankford; and one step-brother, Wilbur E. Jackson.
Surviving are his second wife, Mary E. Walker Lucas Daniels; three daughters, Lulu Marie (Benny) Lozier of Springfield, Ohio, Shelia Lynn Shaffer of Marietta, and Faye Elizabeth (Mark) Black of Lewisville, Ohio; two sons, Landseer D. (Gail) Daniels of Stafford, Ohio, and Kenneth L. Daniels of Urbana, Ohio; one sister, Laura Hoffheins of Southgate, Mich.; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of military and funeral services, with Lloyd Westbrook officiating, at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014. Burial will follow in the Stafford Cemetery, Stafford. Ohio.
