Construction of Belpre's Bicentennial Bandstand, a project of the Woman's Club, has been delayed due to the strike by Department of Human Services workers, who cannot supply the volunteers. The structure was to have been completed by Founders' Day, April 11.

Five bids for construction of the proposed new Selby General Hospital on Colegate Road have been accepted. Work on the $793,126 facility is expected to start in the next 60 days. Architects are Eesley & Lee of Marietta.

Congressman George White of Marietta is working for the repeal of an Act of Congress that governs construction work and navigation on the Muskingum River. He says that many of the delays and expenses incident to the reconstruction of flood-destroyed bridges are due to this law.
