Regis Eugene Francis, 78, also known as "Gabby" or "12 Gauge" to his friends, passed away Thursday (Jan. 9, 2014) at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. "Gabby" was born Saturday, Nov. 23, 1935, in Constitution, Ohio, to the late Lewis and Lenora Hall Francis.
He worked as a mechanic for Big 4 Auto Sales and tended oil wells for Dr. Anderson, worked concessions for WVWA Wrestling and worked as well for Halls Stone Quarry in Constitution, Ohio. "12 Gauge" was an avid Jimmy Johnson fan and wrestling fanatic.
He is survived by his wife, Rosetta Thrasher Francis whom he married on Aug. 13, 1966, in Marietta; daughters, Sylvia Cozart (Stevan Lauderman), Becky Francis (Kelly King), Ellen Patterson (Roger); grandchildren, Jennifer Moore, Sandra Bohlen (Will), Timothy Patterson (Kayla), Ryan Mugrage (Alisha), Stacy Patterson, Lisa Patterson, William Patterson; great-grandchildren, Anastasia and William Moore; siblings, Virgil, Iva Jo and Alice, and lifelong friend, Gary Stevens. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Lenora, Grace, Mabel, Lewis, Robert and Clifford.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta 45750 with Danny LeMaster officiating.
