Harry Barengo and Dick McBane are co-chairmen for the Marietta Jaycees' annual March of Dimes radio auction. The event gives people a chance to phone in bids on a variety of items donated by local merchants, while the three-hour auction's progress is broadcast on radio.
100 years ago
Miss Willia D. Cotton, librarian, announced in her annual report to the trustees of the Public Library association that Andrew Carnegie will give $30,000 to erect a new building. It is hoped that a site will soon be selected and additional money raised to support this purpose.
