Clyde H. Alloway Sr., 88, of Belpre, Ohio, died at the Harmar Place in Marietta. He was born in Columbia, Ohio on May 26, 1925, and was the son of the late Floyd V. and Sarah Grace Stoffel Alloway. He retired from the Union Carbide/Gulf Oil Company. He was a member of the Friendship Ridge Fellowship Christian Church. He was a member and past President of the Belpre Senior Citizens. He was a Navy veteran and was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was a member of the Belpre Masonic Lodge #609. He was a charter member of the Washington Mounted Deputy Association. Clyde was very proud of his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Ruth L. (Russ) Grim of Jacksonville, Fla.; this three sons, Clyde H. (Karen) Alloway Jr. of Belpre, Thomas F. (Debbie Lynn) Alloway of Little Hocking, Ohio, Larry (Debbie Jo) Alloway of Leesburg, Fla.; a stepson, Don (Norma) Cottrill of Cape Coral, Fla.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Jean Amick of Belpre; three brothers, Carl W. Alloway of Belpre, Jim Alloway of Coolville, and David Alloway of Vincent.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Louise Alloway; his second wife, Gracie Ferrebee Alloway; two grandsons, Jeff Alloway and Brian Grim; a brother, Floyd Alloway; and a stepson, Dale Cottrill.
Services will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Pastor Mark Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Masonic services will be conducted by Belpre Masonic Lodge on Monday at 7:45 p.m.
