Bruce D. Gribble

Bruce D. Gribble, 83, recently of Elgin, Illinois, formerly of Canton, passed on to his heavenly reward on Tuesday (Feb. 4, 2014).

Born in Cutler, Ohio, to Jean and Alma Gribble, Bruce was the youngest of five siblings. After service in the Army Air Corp in Lodi, Illinois, Bruce and his wife Jean (Williams) moved back to Ohio, first to Yellow Springs, and then to settle in Canton. Always a hard worker, Bruce was employed over 30 years at E.W. Bliss/Babcock and Wilcox. He always enjoyed travel, fishing, visiting with friends, and especially being with his family.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife Jean of 64 years; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Gribble Jackson, Craig Jackson, Judy Gribble Deremer, David Deremer; brother, Bob Gribble; grandchildren, Heather Jackson Benjamin, Jeff Jackson, Bailey Jackson, Erin Deremer Philpot, Elise Deremer; great-granddaughters, Zoe Jackson, Molly Benjamin; and soon to be celebrated baby Philpot; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to local chapters of the American Heart Association. Interment will be held at a later date in Union Lawn Cemetery, Navarre, Ohio.
