Dora Daugherty Kelly was born on Jan. 29, 1929, in Marietta, to Walter E. and Gladys White Daugherty.
She was a graduate of Marietta High School with the Class of 1946.
She was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church.
She retired from Marietta City Schools after working 20 years as an elementary school secretary at Washington Elementary School.
After retirement, she volunteered at a number of nonprofit organizations, such as Franciscan Meals, Caring Connections, and The Castle. She served on the board of The Woman's Home and on the Girls Board of the Betsey Mills Club.
On July 8, 1950, she married Robert G. Kelly who survives with their three children, Robert Dean (Brandi) of Fairfax Station, Va., Cathy Jo Sutphen (Dennis) of Sun City Center, Fla., Bruce Alan (Donna) of Las Vegas, Nev. They have six grandchildren, Scott Goddard (deceased), Chad Goddard (Mari), Kristine Kelly Davis (Chris), Robert Douglas Kelly, Megan Kelly, Caitlin Kelly Moon (Alex); three great-grandchildren, Braiden Goddard, Ethan Goddard, Chandler Goddard; a stepgranddaughter, Skylar Whitlock. She is also survived by a stepbrother, Joe Fulton (Mary) Green Valley, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Clarence; her sister, Rose; and her grandson, Scott Goddard.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 15, 2014) at Christ United Methodist Church, 301 Wooster St., Marietta, Ohio, 45750, with the Rev. Don Archer officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 14) at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel.
