Donald Emerson Sterling, 33, of Marietta, found his stairway to Heaven from his home Feb. 23, 2014.
He was born to Mark Emerson Sterling and Margie Ruth Smithberger July 14, 1980 at St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was a lover of music with the ability to master any instrument he was presented. A stunningly talented singer/songwriter, he was adored by all who were entitled to know him. He was a brilliant young man with a genius mind for science, math and computers.
A lovingly devoted husband, son, brother and uncle, he is survived by his wife, Lea Sterling of Marietta; father, Mark (Sandy) Sterling of Meadville, Pa.; mother, Margie Ruth (Chris) Smithberger of Marietta; two sisters, Connie Canestraro of Valparaiso, Ind., and Melissa (Nathaniel) Slaubaugh of Marietta; two brothers, Timothy Sterling of Meadville, Pa., and Jeffrey (Chelsey) Henningfield of Marietta; grandmother, Joan Sterling of Townville, Pa.; stepgrandparents, Ron and Carolyn Smithberger of Newport, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Emerson Sterling of Townville, Pa.
Memorial services will be held at River of Life Church, 200 Franklin St., Marietta, at 2 p.m. Saturday (March 1, 2014) with the Rev. George Gaston officiating.
