Sherrie Jean Doran, 61, of Marietta, passed away Wednesday (Feb. 26, 2014) at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Sherrie was born Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1953, in Marietta, to the late Charles and Donna Dye Umpleby. Sherrie dedicated her life to nursing and helping others spending countless hours at Marietta Memorial Hospital in the I.C.U. and Strecker Center for 35 years.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Doran, whom she married Sept. 3, 1994 in Marietta; daughter, Jessica Lee (William) of Waterford; grandchildren, Jyllian, Jaylin, and Jadyn Lee; sisters, Lisa Donahue, Tammy Moore and Julie Moore; half sister and brother, Elizabeth Umpleby and Charles Umpleby; sister-in-law, Jullie Doran; nieces, April Brick (Patrick) and Amy Riggins (Matt); and great-nieces, Hayleigh, Makenzie, Hannah and Makayla.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her special grandparents, Capt. "Hud" Harold A. Dye and Virginia Rutter Dye; and a brother-in-law, Rodney Donahue.
Services will be held Monday (March 3, 2014) at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hadley Funeral Home, 500 Fifth St.
