Robert J. Singer, 85, of Waverly, formerly of Marietta, died on Wednesday (March 19, 2014) at the Riverside Hospital in Columbus. He was born on July 4, 1928, in Akron to the late Adolph N. and Grace Nunn Singer.
He was a retired Plumber and Pipefitter from the Dravo Corporation in Marietta out of Union Local #168 in Marietta. He attended the Waverly Church of Christ.
He is survived by one daughter, Helen (Max) Seyfried of Waverly; one step-daughter, Kathleen Higgins of Marietta; one brother, Ottmer (Dee) Singer of Clarksville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Curtis (Laisea) Husk, Carah (Joel) Husk and Austin (Ashley) Seyfried; three great-granddaughters, Jada, Amaya and Rhema; one great-grandson, Judah; seven step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Lavina Helen (Boothby) Singer and two step-sons, Clifford VanWey and Bill VanWey.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at noon at the Stone-Matheney Funeral home in Chesterhill with Pastor J.R. Walker officiating.
