Gerald "Jerry" Joseph Huck Sr., 73, of Marietta, died Thursday (March 20, 2014) at his home. He was born Dec. 23, 1940, in Washington County, Ohio to Joseph Bernard and Margaret Louise Neader Huck.
He was a 1959 graduate of St. Marys High School. Jerry had served in the National Guard and the Reserves and retired as a chemical operator from American Cyanamid in 1985. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Masters Huck; three children, Thomas S. Huck (Jo Anne), Brenda Sue Cooper, and Gerald J."Joe" Huck Jr., all of Marietta; four step children, Ben Marsee (Makayla) of Italy, Sandra Saoud (Nachut) of Allentown, Pa., Earnest Marsee of New Orleans, La., and Eugene Marsee of California; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Teresa Dyer, and an infant brother, Charles Joseph Huck.
Funeral services will be held at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Monday, March 24, 2014, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Don Archer officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Monday two hours prior to his service. Entombment will be at East Lawn Mausoleum. Donations may be made to the Strecker Cancer Center.
