Tom R. Reynolds, 71, of Marietta, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday (April 1, 2014) from his home with family by his side. He was born at Fleming, Ohio, on Nov. 8, 1942, to the late Chester W. Sr. and Garnett Behlke Reynolds.
He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in St. Mary's, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War era, a member of the NRA, and a member of Painters Local Union 1144. He retired from Hydro Power Inc., which he co-owned and operated. He is an alumni of Lawrence High School at Dart, Ohio. He has many friends who shared his interest in classic autos and his love of collecting firearms. He loved to wheel and deal.
He was devoted to his family and enjoyed being involved in his grandchildren's lives. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Delores Brookover Reynolds (Dee); their children, Brian Reynolds and Tammy Antill (Jason); grandchildren, Taylor Reynolds, Mitchell Reynolds, Caleb Reynolds, Autumn Gainer, Kirsten Shearon, Jenna Shearon, Nathan Brady, Ben Brady, Kera Antill; brothers, Bob (Patty), Chester (Nancy), Roy (Alice), Mike (Audrey); sisters, Betty O'Brien (Randy), Patty Montgomery, Naomi Peton (Jacque), Teresa Hall (J.R.), Bobbi Hatcher (Chris); and his stepmother, Joretta Reynolds.
He was predeceased by his parents; a grandson, Jaxon Antill; and his stepmother Bertha Eddy.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday (April 4, 2014) at the Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta, with Pastor Robert Hughes officiating. Interment will be at IOOF Cemetery in St. Mary's, W.Va. with full military honors. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday (April 3) at the funeral home.
