After serving in the U.S. Navy, George worked at Armco Steel in Zanesville, Ohio, for 32 years until he retired. During retirement he enjoyed wintering in Florida and camping in Zanesville and in Marietta at The Landings Campground, where he loved to take his beloved dog, Gracie, riding on the golf cart and took great pride in helping to slow the speed of traffic. It was no surprise to the family that his passing was on the one year anniversary of his mothers passing, they shared a very special bond.
In keeping with George's wishes, he will be cremated and the family will have a private celebration of his life.
