The Marietta Times

Agnes "Aggie" Merryman Wilson, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday (April 7, 2014) in Marietta.

She was born in Sistersville, W.Va., the daughter of the late Delbert M. and Pearle Eaton Merryman. She was a 1939 graduate of Sistersville High School and a 1943 graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College. She had worked for E.I. Dupont for 34 years and was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Clara Edna Chapter 14 and the Friends of the Blennerhassett and a volunteer in the Blennerhassett Music Gift Shop.

When at home, she enjoyed reading and was an avid fan of tennis, golf and football. She was also quite active and devoted to the organizations to which she belonged, particularly Dupont retirees and PEO. Being warm, gracious and caring toward others, she made friends easily and established many relationships that have lasted for decades. Most of all, her persistent smile, engaging personality and positive outlook on life are among the qualities for which she will be remembered.
