A Marietta man has been arrested for reportedly burglarizing the home of an elderly woman for whom he works.
Michael A. Doak, 26, of 403 Lord St., has been charged with a second-degree felony count of burglary with other charges likely, said Capt. Troy Hawkins of the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
"This house has been broken into four times since March," said Hawkins referring to a home on Bramblewood Heights.
Doak had reportedly been doing miscellaneous work for the home's 93-year-old owner for the past few months.
Hawkins declined to release the value of stolen items but said a televisio was taken and the woman's purse and cash were stolen on multiple occasions.
Doak forced entry into the home at night time when the woman was home, said Hawkins.
Doak was identified with the help of neighbors.
"Neighbors were able to get some identifying information due to suspicious activity in the neighborhood,"said Hawkins.
No other homes in the immediate neighborhood have reported burglaries recently, he said.
Doak is being held without bond in the Washington County Jail pending his arraignment in Marietta Municipal court this morning.
