A St. Marys man was ejected from his vehicle and transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital after a single vehicle crash Saturday night in Washington County.
Robert Poling, 56, of 200 Sandpiper Village, St. Marys, W.Va., did not sustain life threatening injuries, according to the Ohio Highway State Patrol.
He was not listed as a patient at Marietta Memorial Hospital as of Monday, according to Jennifer Offenberger, director of marketing for the Memorial Health System.
Poling had been driving north on State Route 26 and failed to negotiate a curve around 11:20 p.m. Poling traveled off the left side of the road, struck a guardrail, and was fully ejected from the 2007 Dodge minivan he had been driving, according to the state patrol.
Poling was not wearing a seatbelt, but had a medical waiver exempting him from needing to wear one, said Sgt. Michael Seabolt.
Alcohol and drugs are not suspected in the crash.
Poling was charged with failure to maintain control.
