Service to others is a component of the educational program at St. Mary School, with each class choosing a focus area for their service project.
Two of the classes completed fundraisers for St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital this month. The Montessori preschoolers had a trike-a-thon and rode laps around a track in the school gym. These youngsters earned $170 from pledges.
The sixth grade class combined academics with their service project and generated a grand total of $2,318 from their math-a-thon.
