Muskingum Valley Chamber banquet
The Muskingum Valley Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its 12th annual banquet May 8 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church Social Hall in Beverly. Social hour is 6 to 6:30 p.m. with the meal served at 6:30. There will also be an awards presentation and entertainment. The featured speaker will be Jerry James of Artex Oil Company. Program on paying for college
The Marietta Noon Rotary Club is proud to present a free presentation by Rotarian Dan Jones on the subject of paying for college, and the financial aid process. Families of high school sophomores and juniors who are planning on some form of education after high school are welcome. The presentation will take a little over one hour in a workshop setting and note taking is encouraged.
The presentation will take place on Tuesday, May 6th at 6:30pm. The location is the Microtel Inn & Suites on Pike Street in Marietta. This Inn is next to Exit #1 off of I-77 in Ohio.
Dan Jones has been presenting this valuable information for over 20 years and has helped many families prepare for the overwhelming task of paying for college.

Toy, Doll Museum opens this weekend
The Toy and Doll Museum, located on 206 Gilman Ave., Marietta, opens this weekend for the season. The museum will be open Saturday's and Sunday's from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for children. Seasonal passes are available: a single pass is $10 and a family pass is $15.
Relay For Life team zumba dance party
The Washington County Relay For Life Team. Angels Among Us, will host a Zumba Dance Party on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Marietta Middle School. Brian Anderson, of ZK Fitness, will lead the Zumba class. Cost is $25. All proceeds go toward the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.
