Bridgeport Equipment reported Friday that a white male suspect stole merchandise from the store and fled after being stopped by an employee.
Jacob M. Schaffer, 26, last known address 330 Fourth St., Marietta was arrested Sunday at that location for violation of a temporary protection order and taken to jail.
Officers investigated a report Sunday of a five-year-old male being found playing in the 400 block of Fort Harmar Drive. The child had a small cut on his foot from stepping on a rock. The parents were located 45 minutes later. This investigation continues.
Deputies along with the Barlow, Dunham and Wesley fire departments responded Monday to a fire at the home of Jeremy G. Snyder, 35, at 3547 Tick Ridge Road, Vincent. Snyder ran an extension cord from inside his home to an outbuilding for an electric supply. When he later exited the outbuilding he observed flames emanating from where he plugged in the extension cord. No one was injured; the home was fully engulfed in flames and a total loss.
Wendy S. Moore, 33, of 1002 Grandview Ave., New Matamoras, reported Monday that sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) broke the front passenger side window of her vehicle and stole her purse. Moore said she only had $10 in her purse.
A caller reported Monday that a male and a female were involved in a loud argument outside 121 Pine Drive, Little Hocking. The involved parties admitted being involved in an argument over their recent move and agreed that no physical violence occurred. The case was closed as unfounded. Nelson M. Potts, 54, of 37905 State Route 7, Sardis, reported Tuesday that an iPhone 5 that he gave to his nephew was stolen after his nephew inadvertently left it on a table at Subway in Devola April 8.
Tammy S. Bradley, 46, of 215 Lawn Lane, Belpre, reported Tuesday she was assaulted by her husband, James P. Cron, 63, of 11121 Veto Road, Belpre. During an argument with his wife over two houses they own on Veto Road, Cron punched Bradley in the shoulders with his fists. Bradley did not have any visible injuries but complained of pain and stated she was in fear for her safety during the incident. Cron was arrested for domestic violence. At the jail, Cron tested a .163 percent blood alcohol content.

Matthew G. Snyder, 34, of 607 Horse Creek Road, Dubois, W.Va., was arrested Friday for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Snider was picked up at the Stark County Jail and processed into the Washington County Jail.
Misty L. Crace, 40, of 236 Francis Road, Lowell, was arrested Friday for disorderly conduct by fighting, a misdemeanor.
Mark A. Carey, 50, of 205 1/2 Montgomery St., Marietta, was arrested Friday for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Jason L. Bartimus, 38, of 2346 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, was arrested Friday for assault, a misdemeanor.
Raven M. Stewart, 23, of 3586 Tremaine Road, Columbus, was arrested Friday for driving under an Financial Responsibility Act suspended license and for failure to obey a traffic control device, both misdemeanors.
Michael A. Arnold, 28, of 150 Harmar St., Marietta, was arrested Friday for littering and for operating a vehicle with an inoperable headlight, both misdemeanors.
Tyler J. Irish, 18, of 157 Ivy Lakes Drive, Saint Johns, Fla., was arrested Sunday for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor.
Mark A. McIntyre, 32, of 123 1/2 Pleasant St., Morgantown, W.Va., was arrested Sunday for a felony charge of theft and for misdemeanor charges of theft, nonsupport of dependents and violating the terms of his probation.
