On Saturday, March 22, the Frontier Alumni Association classes 1969 to 1989 held their third annual pancake breakfast at Newport Elementary School in Newport.
Without the support of everyone involved, this event would not have been as successful as it has become. With that being said, we would like to say thank you to all the hungry pancake/sausage eaters that came in support of us and ate at our breakfast, thanks to anyone who donated to us, thanks for all who helped plan, organize and work the breakfast, and thanks to everyone who helped spread the word of the breakfast by advertising. With all of our support and generosity by many we feel there will be a fourth annual pancake breakfast in early March of 2015. This event has become not just a pancake breakfast, this year we had the choice of pancakes, sausage and scrambled eggs, or your choice of sausage gravy and biscuits with scrambled eggs.
On May 3, the association will be holding their third annual four-man scramble at the St. Mary's golf course in St. Mary's, W.Va., starting at 9 a.m. The scramble was open to the first 18 teams to sign up. All 18 spots have been filled, however there is a cancellation list. Anyone wishing to help throughout the day is welcome. If you would just like to stop by and say hello, please just stop in.
The 2014 fourth annual class reunion for classes 1969-1989 will be held June 13 and 14 at the Comfort Inn, Pike St., Marietta. Both nights will start at 6 p.m. in the grand ballroom. Friday night will be snacks, photo booth, sound system with music playing from the '70s and '80s era and a cash bar. Saturday night will be dinner, a band, and cash bar. Reservation forms have been emailed, hand delivered, and mailed. If you have not received yours, you can go to our website at www.frontieralumni.com and download the form. If you don't have access to a printer, just fill out the information on a piece of paper and send it in. You can also contact me and we'll get you a form.
Any questions or concerns you can contact me via the website, or call me at home. Thanks again for your support with the pancake breakfast.
