A Marietta woman who beat up her husband during a fight was sentenced Friday in Washington County Common Pleas Court to 30 days in jail.
Alicia D. Rivera, 30, of 411 1/2 Third St., Marietta, was sentenced on a fourth-degree felony count of domestic violence, said Washington County Assistant Prosecutor Kevin Rings.
On April 16, 2013, Rivera and her husband got into a fight which left him with scratches and a bloody nose.
Rivera has a prior domestic violence conviction, elevating this charge to a felony.
Neither party was forthcoming about the nature of the fight, said Rings.
"No one was going to tell us much. Neither wanted to tell us exactly what was going on," he said.
Rivera was sentenced by Washington County Common Pleas Court Judge Randall Burnworth to 38 days in jail with credit for eight days served. She was also ordered to serve a year of community control sanctions.
