Sara Sue Cook, 78, of Marietta, passed away at home on Thursday (May 1, 2014).
She was born Sept. 29, 1935, in Marietta, to the late Ned and Rosemary (Mellor) Sutton.
Sara graduated from Marietta College in 1957 with a bachelor of science degree in biology and was a member of the Sixth & Washington Streets Church of Christ.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Charles H. Cook; children, Tim Cook and wife, Jo, (St. Albans, W.Va.), Beth Rosener and husband, Marty, (Fort Mill, S.C.), and Susan Markley and husband, Bruce, (Berryville, Va.); grandchildren, Daniel Cook, James Cook, Brian Cook, Andrew Cook, Brittany Rosener, Megan Rosener, and Olivia Rosener; great-grandchildren, Eli Cook and Gracie Cook.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday (May 7, 2014) at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta, with Roger Rush officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown. Friends may call from 2 to 4 or 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday (May 6, 2014) at the funeral home.
