William Curtis "Bill" Varner, 67, of Waterford, died Friday (May 9, 2014) at Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born on Aug. 21, 1946, in Wheeling, West Virginia, the son of Viola Varner and the late Willis Varner. He was a member of the Harmar Hill church of Christ and a former deacon. He was a very caring, dedicated loan officer at the Citizens Bank Company for over 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Donna (Ray) Varner; two daughters, Wendy (Ben) Coyle and Amanda (Steve) Guglielmi; and four grandchildren, Anna and Matthew Coyle and Grant and Steven Guglielmi. He is also survived by his mother, Viola Varner; and brothers, Terry (Brenda) Varner and Randy (Susan) Varner.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willis Varner; and his grandparents, Hazel and Joseph Varner and John and Celeste Truex. He will be sadly missed by family, friends, and his faithful canine companion, Lucky.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (May 13) at the Hadley Funeral Home in Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today (May 12) at the funeral home.
