Women's group to host salad supper
The Beverly United Methodist Women will host a salad supper Monday for women of the congregation and invited guests. There will also be a silent auction and entertainment. As part of the 225th anniversary of the settling of the Village of Beverly, the night's entertainment will be the reenactment of a drama originally presented to the public in 1960 by June Berkley's combined seventh and eighth grade class. The salad supper at 6 p.m. will be followed by the play at 7 p.m.

Senior luncheon at Marietta Township
The Marietta Township senior luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Marietta Township Recreation Center. This will be a picnic lunch and everyone is asked to bring a covered dish. Meat, drinks and eating utensils will be furnished. This is open to all seniors.

Volunteers needed to plant flowers
Volunteers are invited to help plant 10,002 Sunflowers at Jubilee Gardens on Phillips Street Saturday in honor of U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Josh Taylor who died in a training exercise.Volunteers will work from 9 a.m. to noon at the new Jubilee Gardens organic community project along Phillips Street on the rear of the former Kardex or Remington Rand plant. Thirty garden plots are available to area residents who are willing to use only organic practices and to assist with the garden's upkeep. Volunteers assisting with the project will be provided sunflower seeds they may take to plant.

WHS bell choirs to perform Monday
The Warren High School Hand Bell Choirs will perform their "Bells Finale" at 7 p.m. Monday in the Warren High School Auditorium.
Health department holds rabies clinic
A rabies shot clinic for dogs and cats will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. June 7 at the Washington County Health Department, 342 Muskingum Drive, Marietta. The cost is $7 per animal. Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in carriers. All pets must be at least 12 weeks old.
