Harold Eugene McGee, 67, of Marietta, passed away on Monday (May 12, 2014) at his home. He was born on November 2, 1946 to the late Floyd and Virginia Bailey McGee.
Harold served in the Army during the Vietnam War and then served in the National Guard for 16 years. He worked as a welder in Williamstown and retired from Cytec after 27 years. Harold also taught at Washington State Community College, and was a member of the Celebration Center of Marietta. Harold loved fishing, boating and spending time with his granddaughter and great-grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine McGee; son, Scott E. McGee (Rae); granddaughter, Niasca McGee and great grandson Caden of Marietta; step grandchildren, Reagan, Justin and Branden of Texas; two sisters, Teresa Bunner of Parkersburg, Janet Bunner of St. Marys, W.Va.; uncle, Dean McGee of Weirton, W.Va.; aunt, Carol Pinkerton of St. Marys, W.Va. and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Mildred McGee; and brother, Ted L. McGee.
In accordance with his wishes cremation will be observed. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday (May 16, 2014) at Willow Island Cemetery with full military honors.
