Dorothy Eloise Doyle Hamilton, 90, of Lower Salem, Ohio, passed away Tuesday (May 13, 2014) in Woodsfield, Ohio.
She was born Monday, Sept. 10, 1923, in Wingett Run, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Ada Long Doyle. Dorothy and her late husband owned and operated Hamilton's Store and T.V. Sales in Lebanon, Ohio, for 37 years. She was a member of Masterton Chapter # 584 O.E.S., past grand representative to NC., and past last surviving charter member of the Pioneer Antique Auto Club.
She is survived by her sons, Larry (Judy) Hamilton of Lower Salem, Joseph (Carol) Hamilton of Marietta and Virgil (Lee) Hamilton of Jackson, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Bruce (Penny) Hamilton of St. Charles, Mo., Todd (Paula) Hamilton of Raleigh, N.C., Ken (Lesa) Hamilton of Spring Hill, Tenn., Valeri (James) Buck of Fayetteville, Tenn., Rachel Hamilton of Boise, Idaho, Ryan Hamilton of Marietta, Brittney Hamilton of Marietta, and Zachary Hamilton of Jackson, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren, Meagan, Mollie, Madison, and Michael Hamilton and Evan, Tori, Sophie and Andrew Buck.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lloyd Eugene "Jiggs" Hamilton (3/26/1994); brothers, Paul and Russell Doyle; and a sister, Mary Demari.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday (May 17, 2014) at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., with the Rev. Richard Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Masterton Cemetery in Lebanon, Ohio. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday with an Eastern Star service at 8 p.m.
