Sherisha L. Sturm, 30, of 3055 Sandhill Road, Marietta, was arrested Thursday in the 200 block of Greene Street for disorderly conduct by intoxication and released to her mother.

Lea Marlean Albert, 29, of 11805 Matherson Ave., Cleveland, was arrested Wednesday for possession of drugs, a misdemeanor.
A concerned parent reported Tuesday that her daughter smelled of marijuana on exiting her school bus. A deputy searched the bus for contraband but found none. Questioned by the deputy, a suspect admitted taking one hit off an electronic cigarette on the bus. The suspect was counseled about the prohibited use of nicotine on school grounds or in school property.
A deputy requested a summons for Nicholas A. Rymer, 38, of 400 Mechanic St., Macksburg, for cruelty to animals. Two days earlier, neighbors reported Rymer's dog was yelping in pain as he punched it with his fists. Over the past two months, the neighbors observed Rymer punching, kicking and chocking his dog on multiple occasions. On another occasion, a neighbor observed Rymer shooting at his dog with a BB gun. Rymer admitted hitting the dog in order to discipline it but denied that he was excessive in his use of force. Rymer stated he has anger issues and said at times he cannot control his aggression. The deputy seized the dog and transported it to the humane society.
An employee of The Magnuson Hotel, 279 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, reported Sunday an intoxicated male was harassing hotel guests and attempting to go into the river behind the hotel. At the hotel, deputies noticed Randall Wilson, 56, of 123 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, had an odor of alcohol, was slurring his speech and having difficulty standing upright. Wilson admitted drinking four, 40-ounce alcoholic beverages and that he was very intoxicated. The hotel employee said she does not feel Wilson is safe when he is intoxicated and is that close to the river. Based on the investigation, Wilson was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication and transported to the Washington County Jail. He tested .240 BAC.
A deputy arrested Shawn B. Haga, 33, of 65 Church St., Vincent, for domestic violence on Sunday. Haga's live-in girlfriend, Jessica Carpenter, 34, reported her boyfriend had been consuming alcohol throughout the day and was angry that she would not allow him to drive his truck. As Carpenter drove Haga on Ohio 550, Haga removed the key from the vehicle's ignition, causing the vehicle to lose power and steering. Carpenter successfully guided the vehicle into a parking lot, at which point Haga threw the keys across the street and into a creek. Carpenter said when Haga removed the key it caused her to fear for her safety.
Wetzel D. Kimball, 61, of 11646 State Route 339, Vincent, reported Monday that sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) stole three wide racing tires and a radiator from a 1976 pickup truck parked behind his home. Deputies located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's vehicle on Woodruff Road. Along with the vehicle, the deputies observed three wide racing tires on the ground nearby. The suspects, Thomas L. Koon, 40, of 800 State Route 676, Stockport, and John C. Nelson III, 40, of 2396 Woodruff Road, Vincent, claimed they had permission from the property owner to take the items to sell for scrap. Based on the investigation, Koon and Nelson were arrested for theft and transported to the Washington County Jail.
Deborah Tarnecki, 45, of 47410 State Route 7, New Matamoras, reported Monday she was involved in an altercation at the Bada Bing that evening. Tarnecki, who lives above the bar, said an acquaintance with whom she was speaking shoved her against a wall. A deputy was unable to corroborate Tarnecki's statement with witnesses, with some stating that Tarnecki instigated the altercation.
A deputy requested summonses on Tuesday for Misty Martindell, 40, of 236 Francis Road, Lowell, for failing to confine/restrain a dog and for failure to register a dog. A neighbor of Martindell reported he has had constant problems with her dog entering his property and causing damage. At one point Martindell's neighbor was forced to patch holes and reseed his lawn at a cost of $500 because of damage caused by the dog. Martindell has been cited and warned numerous times over the past three years for the same offenses.
A deputy arrested Shawn R. Karcher, 47, of 272 Ridgewood Drive Apt. G, Marietta, on Tuesday for a first-degree felony charge of rape that occurred April 26 at the Warren Township home of a 37-year-old woman he was friends with.
