James L. Felton
James L. Felton, 74, of Pataskala, Ohio, formerly of New Matamoras, Ohio, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014, at the Kobacher House, Columbus, Ohio.
He was born near New Matamoras, Ohio, on Nov. 26, 1939, a son of the late Raymond and Opal June Slonaker Felton.
He was a retired laborer with the laborers Union Local 639, Marietta, and was a member of the Brice United Methodist Church, Brice, Ohio. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and most especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Felton and a brother in infancy. Surviving are his wife, Frances Cline Felton, whom he married July 30, 1976; two daughters, Diane (Mike) Dalyrample of Newport, Ohio, and Deanna (Jamie) Butler of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; two sons, Christopher (Marlene) Blackburn of Pataskala, Ohio, and James L. (Carolyn) Felton of Pickerington, Ohio; two sisters, Pat Stanley of Belpre, Ohio, and Shirley Felton of New Matamoras, Ohio; four brothers, Gerald Felton of New Matamoras, Ohio, John (Shirley) Felton of New Matamoras, Ohio, William Felton of New Matamoras, Ohio, and Howard (Becky) Felton of New Matamoras, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Michael Boughner, Ashley Dalyrample, Brandon, Brittany and Tiffany Butler, Amber and Rebecca Blackburn and Hannah Felton; and one great-grandson, Cayden Butler.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, May 29, at the Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 30, with Rev. Gary Fitzgerald and Pastor David Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, New Matamoras, Ohio.
